アイルランドが上海の新聞The Oriental Morning Postでの読者と旅行の専門家による投票で2012年最も人気の目的地に、また北京の出版社Life Styleでの同様の道標で2012年の最もチャーミングな目的地に選ばれた。しかしながら、トリップアドバイザーが最近対象都市に関するレビューを書いたユーザ約75000人を対象にした調査に基づき作成した世界の主要40都市のランキングにおいては、ダブリンはタクシーの質以外イマイチな感じである。具体的にはfriendliest taxi drivers(5位)、best taxi services (4位)、cleanest streets(12位)safest city(13位)、best for shopping(15位)で上位、value for money(27位)、 being underrated(29位)でしょっぱい結果となっているようだ。ちなみにロイターの日本語記事の方では全く言及がない。
スコッツマンのライターMartin Hannonさんは、ニューイヤーイヴフェスティバル(Hannonさんは招待されているマスコミ関係者の1人であり、昨年末が2回目である)はエディンバラのホグマニーに匹敵する規模であるとし、フォローを入れているが…
